Cover Contest

We are thrilled to announce the Cover Contest for The Awakening Magazine: Volume 8!

This is an opportunity for artists to have their work featured on the cover of our upcoming issue.

We welcome all mediums: paintings, illustrations, photography, digital art, and more. Submissions don’t have to directly relate to The Awakening Magazine; we encourage original work that speaks to you. Your piece does not need to include the magazine name or volume number. we can add that to the cover.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions are free. Donations help us print and curate more exhibitions
Multiple Submissions: Artists may submit up to three times.
Submission Period: Entries will be accepted from May 24th to June 12th. Ensure your submission is within this timeframe.
Notification: Selected artists will be notified by July.

Technical Requirements

Image Size: 8.5 in × 11 in (portrait recommended)
Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI
File Size: Maximum 10 MB
Larger Files: If your file exceeds 10 MB, upload a smaller version here and email the full-resolution file to magazinetheawakening@gmail.com.
Presentation: Please avoid distracting shadows, poor lighting, or low-quality documentation.
Layout Notes: Covers work best in vertical format. Horizontal works may be cropped or adjusted for layout. The magazine title, QR code, and volume number will be added by our team.

EXHIBITION & RELEASE EVENT

Volume 8 releases September 4th with a First Friday opening and a month-long exhibition at Chapter 30 in Oxnard, CA.
The Volume 8 Cover Contest winner will be invited to showcase their work in the exhibition.
Work included in the exhibition requires a $5 contribution per piece to help cover installation and event costs. Work sold during the exhibition will follow a 70/30 split (artist/gallery).
